Ucluelet - Canada
Not far from Tofino Ucluelet is a cute town in which we stayed at both times I visited. It’s way more affordable than Tofino. It was stunning to experience this beautiful and stormy sea! Especially in winter it is the spot for storm watching and I totally get why. It wasn’t even high season for that but the sea was full of big waves and it was gorgeous. I could have spared the rain, but we still enjoyed exploring Ucluelet.
The second time I visited in July and the weather was a little calmer but with still enough waves and wind for surfing.
Autumn colors with a bright sky, short after this shot the clouds took over.
Two raven relaxing on two dead trees or maybe they are just looking for prey 😉 Quite a contrast to the maple above right? But it acutally fits the area really well.
Wild Pacific Trail (Ucluelet Lighthouse Loop)
Stormy sea and loads of rain ❤ The umbrella didn't really help obviously but we still had a great time!
Similar view than above but a year later in July, while the picture above was from October. You might recognize the rocks in the horizon. The sea was much calmer the second in summer.
Amphitrite Point Lighthouse.
Unique trees
Rainforest by the ocean, always thought that rainforst only excist in hot climates, British Columbia told me otherwise and I love it!
The sky is clearing up! It did for a short time at least.
Took sooo many pictures of this wild ocean! Nature, you're stunning!
Little "Bonzaii" naturally grown.
Some sunnier pictures following of the same loop with sunnier weather and a calmer sea in July the second year.
Wolves, Bears and Cougars only, actually all of them do really live on Vancouver Island… What a scary and also stunning feeling being so close to wild nature.
Pacific Rim Highway
Another tip on the way to either Ucluelet or Tofino is this spot below. I don’t have a name for it, we spotted it driving up the Pacific Rim Highway around the hight of the Pogo Mountain before the Clayoquot Plateau Provincial Park on the way to Ucuelet. There is a river and some potholes to jump and swim in. It was so much fun and a nice cool down.
