Mt. Revelstoke and Glacier National Park - Canada
On my second Rockie Mountains road trip we drove the opposite way arount from Vancouer over Kelowna and this time I had a stop at at the Blanket Creek Provincial Park for two nights and visited the Mount Revelstoke the first day and the second day we drove by the Glacier National Park with a short hike on the way.
We crossed over to the Blanked Creek Provincial Park with the Ferry at Shelter Bay since we chose the slower but more scenic roat passing by the Upper Arrow Lake.
Blanket Creek Provincial Park
We had two nights on the campground of the Blanket Creek Provincial Park. It was my first stay on a campground in Canada as in Kelowna we did wild camping. We were suprised with the space we had, since we just had a van and others sayed there with big campers. Each camping spot was seperated from the next by bushes or trees and therefore it was quiet and nice at night. They had nice warm showers and I bet later in summer you could have a nice swim in the lakes around it. Below you can see the Upper Arrow Lake.
This was a small lake beside the campground, perfect for swimming.
There is even a waterfall in the provincial park: the Sutherland Falls.
Mount Revelstoke National Park
We did a short hike up mount Revelstoke, but sadly the road fully up the viewpoint was blocked due to still too much snow in June. We still got a nice view from up the level we got to. Afterwards we walked through the city down to the water.
Loop Brook Trail Head at Glacier National Park
At the Glacier National Park be basically just passed by and did a short hike to move in between the drive and it was by the historic railway pass with a nice scenery.
